OK, the frame wall has been around for quite some time, but we still can’t help but love its visual impact. There’s nothing quite like a large feature wall, hallway, alcove… anything really that’s covered from top to bottom in cool art. For maximum effect we like to use a mix of textures and mediums. Don’t be afraid to hang multiple pieces of various sizes to create a unique work of art that’s all your own. It may seem daunting, but we promise it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3 (plus a couple more steps).
What you need…
1/ Frames of all shapes and sizes
2/ Objects that can be hung on a wall
5/ Spray paint
Choosing your frames and artwork…
1/ Frames that are the same colour tend to look best.
2/ Opt for art pieces that have a similar colour story.
3/ Create interest by using different sized frames.
Visualizing your frame wall…
1/ Measure the wall space where your frames will hang.
2/ Using these wall measurements, tape an area on your floor.
3/ Arrange your frames in the taped off area, and play around with the layout. Snap photos as you go along, so you can reference them while you make your final layout decision.
1/ Attach the hanging hardware on the back of each frame and object if required.
2/ Hang the frames on the wall using nails and keep referencing your pictures.
3/ Hang any objects that you want placed in centre of your frames.
Et voilà and happy nailing!
